Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Guy Cormier, who served as president and chief executive officer of one of Canada's largest financial institutions for nearly 10 years, has joined his team for the Laurier–Sainte-Marie electoral district.

Carney noted that throughout his 30-year career, Cormier has championed responsible finance practices, participated in efforts to combat climate change and contributed to empowering young people. "Now he's ready to put his experience to work for the people of Laurier–Sainte-Marie," Carney said.

Carney concluded his statement by addressing Cormier with the words, "Welcome to the team, Guy!"
