CENTCOM disables vessel attempting to breach blockade on Iran in Gulf of Oman
Washington, November 7 (Hibya) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that on November 7, it disabled a commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman that it alleged had attempted to violate the naval blockade imposed on Iran.
According to CENTCOM's statement, US forces intervened after the vessel's crew ignored repeated warnings and made multiple attempts to breach the naval blockade. A US military aircraft fired a precision-guided munition at the stern of the Saint Kitts and Nevis-flagged dry cargo vessel M/V Huda, rendering the ship unable to move.
The statement said that before the intervention, the vessel's crew had been instructed to evacuate the sections that would be targeted. It also noted that the vessel, which had visited a port in Iran, was attempting to leave the region's waters at the time of the operation.
