In a statement shared by CENTCOM, Cooper said REJTF was established a year ago to equip combat forces with advanced technologies. The task force was reported to have quickly established the U.S. military's first one-way attack drone fleet in the Middle East and launched the first aerial attack drone from a U.S. Navy warship.

The statement said REJTF stood out in June when an unmanned surface vessel supported the rescue of the crew of a helicopter that had crashed in regional waters, and in July when CENTCOM used an unmanned surface vessel with one-way attack capability in a combat environment for the first time.

Cooper said the REJTF team is building on the achievements of the past 52 weeks to develop the world's first multinational attack drone unit, and told the innovators in the task force and combat personnel in the field, "Keep doing great work."
