Grandi: Refugee women turn pain into power
New York, 27 November (Hibya) – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi stated that he met with refugee women in Costa Rica yesterday, emphasizing that they transform the pain they have experienced into a powerful force.
Grandi said, “Yesterday in Costa Rica, I listened to refugee women who turn pain into power. Their stories reveal not only the difficulties they faced while fleeing but also the transformative potential they carry.”
Highlighting the importance of women’s access to rights, Grandi added, “When women gain access to their rights, their leadership becomes a driver of development for the communities they live in.”
