Guterres calls for increased investment in tsunami preparedness
New York, November 5 (Hibya) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged countries to strengthen preparedness and increase investments to counter tsunamis.
Guterres noted that tsunamis are rare events but can have extremely deadly consequences.
He called for investments in preparedness in every coastal area and community, emphasizing that rising sea levels and the growing number of people living near coasts heighten the risk of disasters.
