Iranian President Pezeshkian thanks Iraq for hosting funeral ceremony
Tehran, July 10 (Hibya) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked the Iraqi government and people for hosting the funeral ceremony of the person he described as the "martyred leader" and expressed hope for further strengthening relations between the two countries in all fields.
In a post on social media, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked the President of Iraq, the Prime Minister, and the Iraqi people for hosting the funeral ceremony of the "martyred leader."
Describing Iraq as "our second home," Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude to the Iraqi President, Prime Minister, all state officials, religious authorities, clerics, and the Iraqi people.
Pezeshkian stated that the solidarity displayed during the funeral ceremony would never be forgotten by the Iranian people, describing the events throughout the ceremony as "a manifestation of Islamic and Arab hospitality, loyalty, and affection."
In his post, Pezeshkian said, "The Iranian people will never forget this supportive stance, these emotional moments, and this historic funeral ceremony," while highlighting the deep fraternal, cultural, and religious ties between the two countries.
The Iranian President expressed hope that relations between Iran and Iraq would continue to develop and strengthen in all areas for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
