Italian Foreign Minister Tajani said that the “2+2” Foreign Affairs–Defence meeting held with Germany confirmed the resilience of defence cooperation between the two countries. The meeting addressed the security of the European continent, the Arctic region, and the strengthening of NATO’s European pillar.

Emphasizing their support for Ukraine, Tajani noted that the first meeting held between the United States (US), Russia and Ukraine was encouraging, and pointed to the need to ensure that Europe’s voice is heard. A shared determination was also expressed to strengthen regional security in the Middle East, alongside humanitarian aid to Gaza and reconstruction efforts.

The minister said that Italy and Germany support the completion of the Balkans’ European integration and contribute to stability across the continent through their active participation in the KFOR and EUFOR Althea missions.
