Japarov met with Kosherbayev
Bishkek, February 13 (Hibya) - Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to discuss strengthening allied relations and increasing trade volume between the two countries.
During his official visit to Bishkek, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Kosherbayev was received by President Japarov. At the meeting, President Japarov emphasized the positive trajectory of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and the importance of deepening allied relations.
Minister Kosherbayev conveyed the greetings of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and reported on the progress in implementing agreements reached at the highest level. He stressed that Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations demonstrate qualitative development year by year, and that the key factor in this process is the regular political dialogue between the leaders of the two countries.
Minister Kosherbayev noted that expanding bilateral trade and economic relations is a fundamental factor for closer ties. He stated that the current mutual trade volume stands at 2 billion US dollars and that the target is to increase this figure to 3 billion dollars.
The parties also reviewed cooperation on multilateral platforms and discussed current regional and international agenda items. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the determination of the two brotherly countries to strengthen their allied relations.
