Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi held a meeting in Astana with Russia's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin.

According to a statement by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs dated September 17, 2026, the meeting addressed the current state of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia and prospects for its future development.

The parties also reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest and senior levels between the two countries, upcoming reciprocal visits and the schedule of joint events.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on current issues on the regional and international agenda as well as cooperation on multilateral platforms.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Kazakhstan and Russia.
