Lazzarini: The European Parliament’s support is both a lifeline and an investment in peace
New York, October 29 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), expressed his satisfaction with the European Parliament’s stance on the EU’s 2026 budget and its call to strengthen support for the Agency.
In his statement, Lazzarini said, “The European Parliament’s call to increase its support for UNRWA is a strong expression of solidarity at a time when needs in Gaza and the region are greater than ever.”
He noted that UNRWA is making great efforts to continue providing vital humanitarian aid, education, and public health services across the Gaza Strip, adding that “the European Union’s support is both a lifeline and an investment in peace.”
