Lazzarini: The fragile ceasefire in Gaza must be preserved
New York, October 20 (Hibya) – UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini has called for the preservation of the fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini announced that four people were killed and many others injured when Israeli forces struck an UNRWA school used as a shelter in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Lazzarini emphasized that since the beginning of the war, UNRWA buildings across Gaza have been turned into shelters, noting that more than 800 people have been killed and around 2,600 injured in attacks that damaged 300 UNRWA facilities.
He called for independent investigations into these attacks, describing them as clear violations of international humanitarian law.
