Leyen: Europe and India are determined democracies working together
New Delhi, January 26 (Hibya) – President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen met with Indian President Draupadi Murmu as part of India’s Republic Day celebrations.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke about relations between the two regions during her visit to India.
Expressing her thanks on the occasion of Republic Day, Leyen said: “Thank you, Madam President Draupadi Murmu, for hosting us on Republic Day.”
Emphasizing that Europe and India are committed to working together, Leyen stated: “Europe and India are the world’s largest democracies, determined to work together to shape a new global order.”
Defining the purpose of the visit as strengthening cooperation, Leyen concluded: “That is why we are here – to take our partnership to new heights.”
