Memorial held for victims of Kyiv attack
Kyiv, August 1 – (Hibya) Ukraine announced the return of children rescued from temporarily occupied territories; a memorial was held for 31 civilians killed in the Kyiv attack.
Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, reported that a memorial ceremony was held at the site of a destroyed apartment entrance in Kyiv for 31 people killed in the Russian attack.
It was noted that children were among the victims, and the state vowed not to abandon grieving families.
In the same statement, it was announced that under President Volodymyr Zelensky's "Bring Kids Back UA" initiative, a group of children were brought back to the country from temporarily occupied territories.
Yermak stated that among those rescued were a 15-year-old girl who had been bullied and physically assaulted for her pro-Ukrainian stance at a school under Russian administration, a 4-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother, and a 17-year-old boy who had previously received a draft notice for mandatory service in the Russian army.
