In US futures markets, the US 30 index rose 0.21 percent to 51,890.0 points, while the US 500 index gained 0.20 percent to 7,652.7 points. The US Tech 100 index also increased 0.16 percent to 29,494.5 points. The Small Cap 2000 index rose 0.05 percent to 2,876.0 points.

The S&P 500 VIX futures index fell 0.28 percent to 18.60.

In Europe, the DAX index fell 0.41 percent to 25,816.5 points, while the Euro Stoxx 50 declined 0.33 percent to 6,326 points. The CAC 40 index rose 0.12 percent to 8,160.0 points, while the FTSE 100 increased 0.06 percent to 10,876.5 points.

The FTSE MIB index traded at 52,170 points, up 0.88 percent.
