New Zealand Prime Minister Luxon: We are reclaiming our city centers
Wellington, 23 February (Hibya) - New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced the implementation of “exclusion orders” granting new powers to police in order to make city centers safer and more enjoyable.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon made a statement regarding new security measures planned to maintain social order in city centers and enhance public safety.
Luxon said, “We are reclaiming our city centers so that everyone who lives, works, and visits there can enjoy them.”
Explaining the scope of the new powers granted to police, Luxon stated, “We are introducing exclusion orders that will allow police to remove individuals from a location for up to 24 hours and refer them to support services they may need.”
