Pakistan condemns violence against minorities and Muslims in India
Islamabad, December 29 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that acts of vandalism during the Christmas period in India, along with violence against Muslims, are a source of deep concern.
Tahir Andrabi, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assessed the vandalism incidents during Christmas in India and the violence against Muslims, stating that pressure on minorities in India is a serious cause for concern.
The statement highlighted condemnable acts of vandalism during Christmas as well as state-backed campaigns targeting Muslims. In this context, it noted that house demolitions and repeated lynching incidents, particularly the case of Mohammed Akhlaq, have deepened feelings of fear and marginalization among Muslims.
Andrabi stressed that the number of such incidents is alarmingly high and called on the international community to take necessary steps to protect the fundamental rights of vulnerable communities in India.
