Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemns Israeli minister
Ramallah, October 23 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that it “strongly condemns” the remarks made by Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich against Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, the ministry said that Smotrich’s comments are an extension of the hate and incitement rhetoric adopted by the Israeli government against Arab and Islamic countries. Palestinian authorities emphasized that Saudi Arabia is leading international efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state and to stop Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian people.
The statement further noted that the Israeli minister’s words constitute an insult not only to Saudi Arabia but also to the entire Arab and Islamic world. It stressed that the current Israeli government is distinguished by its extremist policies, disregard for international law, and crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
The ministry called on the international community to condemn such racist and hostile statements aimed at escalating tensions in the region and to support the peace efforts of Arab countries, particularly Saudi Arabia.
