Portugal welcomes the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon
Lisbon, April 16 (Hibya) – Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a supportive statement regarding the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, reached through U.S. mediation.
The statement emphasized that this development is a critical step toward alleviating the humanitarian crisis faced by the Lebanese people and establishing regional stability in the Middle East.
It also noted that in order to achieve lasting peace, all parties must continue this process with determination while respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statement included the following:
"All parties must respect this and seize this opportunity to turn it into lasting peace with full respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity."
