Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot made assessments regarding the implementation of the ceasefire on the ground, the importance of United Nations (UN) decisions, and the restoration of Lebanon’s state sovereignty.

Assessing the ceasefire decision, Prevot said: "I welcome the declaration of a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Now this also needs to be confirmed on the ground. This is an important first step after weeks of devastating violence."

Listing the basic criteria for a lasting solution, Prevot said: "Israel and Lebanon need a lasting solution. This requires the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, the disarmament of Hezbollah, full respect for Lebanon’s territorial sovereignty, and strong support for the Lebanese government to ensure the state’s monopoly on arms."

Referring to Belgium’s role in the process, Prevot said: "Belgium has been involved in this process since day one. We are fully mobilized to support Israel and Lebanon on the path toward a sustainable ceasefire and lasting peace."
