President Erdoğan spoke with Russian President Putin by phone
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, bilateral relations between Türkiye and Russia, as well as regional and global developments, were discussed.
President Erdoğan pointed out that the clashes following the withdrawal of security forces from Syria’s Suwayda region posed a threat not only to the region itself but also to surrounding areas. He emphasized the importance of Israel respecting Syria’s sovereignty.
Erdoğan stated that Türkiye prioritizes ensuring stability and security in Syria and added that rebuilding the country is also among the goals.
He also highlighted the importance of launching a third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Erdoğan said that Türkiye would continue to host these talks in Istanbul when the parties agree on appropriate dates.
