Saar held a phone call with his Italian counterpart Tajani
Jerusalem, April 13 (Hibya) — Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar held a phone call with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar held a phone call with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
Commenting on the content of the call, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said, “Before his visit to Lebanon, we discussed the dialogue between Israel and Lebanon, which is expected to begin tomorrow. I said that it is important to sever the link between Iran and Lebanon.”
Drawing attention to the influence of regional actors and the military situation, Saar said, “Iran effectively controls Lebanon through Hezbollah. Hezbollah’s attack on Israel served the interests of Iran, not Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation in Lebanon is weakening Hezbollah and therefore Iran’s dominance over Lebanon.”
Saar concluded his statement by noting that he had informed his counterparts about the use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes, saying, “I informed my colleagues about the weapons found in the hospital in Bint Jbeil; this shows that Hezbollah uses civilian infrastructure for criminal purposes.”
