Minister Shaheen thanked the EU for providing financial support to the Palestinian government and expressed his expectation that the second installment would be paid as soon as possible.

Shaheen stressed that these funds are a legitimate right of the Palestinian people and warned against the illegal deductions made by Israel from tax revenues. He also pointed to the increasing settler attacks on towns, villages, and cities in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, calling on the European Union and the international community to intervene urgently to protect Palestinian civilians and impose strict sanctions on settlers.

During the meeting, the minister also addressed the refugee issue and emphasized the importance of continuing the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
