Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaheen met with Italian Consul General Domenico Bellato.

Italian Consul General Bellato reviewed all Italian efforts and projects implemented in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance joint cooperation.

For his part, Minister Shaheen expressed appreciation for Italy’s supportive stance, particularly regarding humanitarian aid, the treatment of wounded Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and scholarships for Palestinian students, stressing the importance of continuing and strengthening this humanitarian support.

Shaheen also reviewed the difficult humanitarian and political situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, emphasizing that any peace plan or process must be practically linked to the aspirations of the Palestinian people, based on international law, and must bring an end to the occupation.
