Shahin: Violations against Palestinian journalists must be investigated
Paris, July 2 (Hibya) - Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin held meetings at UNESCO to strengthen the protection of cultural heritage, education, and Palestinian journalists.
As part of her two-day official visit to UNESCO headquarters, Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin held a series of meetings aimed at strengthening the protection of cultural heritage, education, and Palestinian journalists.
During the meetings, Shahin emphasized the State of Palestine's appreciation for UNESCO's role in safeguarding cultural heritage.
In her meeting with UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information Maria Gabriel, Shahin called for swift and comprehensive investigations into the killings of Palestinian journalists. She also stressed that the investigations should be expanded to include the rights violations faced by Palestinian journalists detained in prisons.
