Sybiha: Ukraine’s accession to the EU will bring peace even closer
Kyiv, January 24 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union (EU) would bring peace even closer and guarantee security and prosperity for all of Europe and for the entire Hungarian nation.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha stated that when Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said he would not allow Ukraine to join the EU for the next 100 years, he was in fact not addressing the Ukrainian state, but first and foremost the Hungarian ethnic community in Transcarpathia.
Arguing that Orbán and his team do not care about the well-being and security of Hungarians living in Ukraine, Sybiha said: “Orbán wants to keep them hostage to his geopolitical adventures and continue laundering money through various foreign schemes and foundations; this way, he can build another football stadium or set up a new private zoo full of zebras.”
Sybiha said: “It is clear that the European Union is a zone of peace. It was founded after the Second World War to prevent another war. Ukraine’s accession to the EU will bring peace even closer and guarantee security and prosperity for all of Europe and for the entire Hungarian nation.”
Sybiha said that by blocking Ukraine’s EU membership, Orbán is fulfilling Putin’s wishes.
