Zakharova: We strongly condemn Ukraine’s attacks on civilians
Moscow, January 24 (Hibya) – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reacted to the attack carried out by Ukraine against the Kherson region.
Zakharova said that while representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine were taking part in talks in Abu Dhabi on January 23–24 aimed at resolving the conflict, the Kyiv regime and armed groups under its control committed another “barbaric” crime against civilians.
She stated that near Hola Prystan in the Kherson region, an ambulance belonging to the Aleshky Central District Hospital, carrying a medical team to a seriously ill patient, came under attack.
“Despite the vehicle being clearly marked as a medical transport, it was directly targeted by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle. The UAV operator was aware that he was attacking a civilian vehicle; nevertheless, he and his commanders made a deliberate and inhumane decision to carry out a terrorist act against civilians. Three medical workers in the ambulance were killed.”
Zakharova added: “On the same day, militants affiliated with the Kyiv regime attacked another ambulance and several civilian vehicles in the Zaporizhzhia region, injuring four people.”
Stressing that Russia strongly condemns the direct attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against civilians, Zakharova expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and said: “Russia’s investigative and law enforcement agencies will mobilize all available resources to bring the organizers and perpetrators of this extremely grave crime to justice, ensuring inevitable and severe punishment.”
