Sybiha: We greatly value Germany’s strong leadership in Europe
Kyiv, October 4 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to Kyiv, he will discuss bilateral, European and international agenda issues with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that he welcomed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Kyiv.
Sybiha said Merz will discuss bilateral, European and international agenda issues with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski today and thanked Germany for its comprehensive support for Ukraine.
Stating that Ukraine and Germany have built a strong strategic partnership, Sybiha said: “We are determined to deepen this partnership even further.”
Sybiha emphasized the importance they attach to Germany’s leadership in Europe, saying: “We greatly value Germany’s strong leadership in Europe. This leadership is especially important right now.”
Noting that Germany had celebrated the unity that changed Europe a day earlier, Sybiha said: “Today, Ukrainians are defending Europe’s freedom, security and unity, and Germany stands firmly by our side.”
Sybiha said the day’s agenda will focus on strengthening Ukraine, increasing its defense capabilities and resilience, and Europe’s common security.
