In a video call with U.S. soldiers, broadcast live on the White House’s X account, Donald Trump announced that they plan to stop drug trafficking, especially from Venezuela, through additional methods: “We will begin stopping it by land as well. By land is easier.”

Trump added, “Nearly 85% of smuggling by sea has been stopped, you’ve probably noticed. People no longer want to deliver drugs by sea.”

In recent months, dozens of people have died in U.S. attacks on boats accused of drug trafficking. As a result, tensions between the U.S. and South American countries have increased.
