Volker Türk: Women’s participation must be the norm, not the exception
New York, 16 November (Hibya) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk stated that to establish and sustain peace, women’s participation must be the rule, not the exception.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk emphasized in his statement that women’s participation must become the norm, not the exception, in order to secure and maintain peace.
Türk added: “It is time to move beyond commitments and take action to ensure gender equality in all peace processes.”
