Yermak: Eight Ukrainian children and youths returned from occupied territories
Kyiv, November 4 (Hibya) – Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced that eight children and young people have been returned to Ukraine from the occupied territories.
Yermak stated that under the “Bring Kids Back UA” initiative, eight children and youths were safely evacuated from the occupied territories.
He explained that one of the children had not left home for four years to avoid being captured by the occupiers after his family refused to send him to a Russian school. Another was threatened with deportation and forced military service by local collaborators if he refused to enlist. Some children were constantly humiliated at school for speaking Ukrainian, and their parents were fined for such “disobedience.”
Yermak also said that a 21-year-old young man was tortured by Russian soldiers, forced to confess to alleged cooperation with the Ukrainian army, and his family was violently threatened. “All the children are now safe. They are receiving the necessary support, renewing their documents, and gradually returning to normal life,” Yermak added.
