Zelensky: It is important not to lose the momentum for peace
Kyiv, October 14 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that as the war in the Middle East comes to an end, it is important not to lose the momentum in advancing peace.
President Zelensky emphasized that as the Middle Eastern war ends, maintaining momentum toward peace is essential, stating, “The war in Europe can also be ended, and for this, the leadership of both the United States and other partners is extremely important.”
Zelensky said he discussed all of this with Finnish President Alexander Stubb for about an hour, adding:
“We are coordinating our positions. It is important that President Trump has managed to take the necessary steps to secure the release of hostages and halt the war in Gaza. Without a doubt, the right actions by the United States can also help end Russia’s war against Ukraine. We share a similar vision on this.”
Zelensky added that he and Alex also discussed recent Russian attacks on the energy sector and the need to strengthen air defense, saying: “I am grateful for their readiness to help. Russia must be deprived of the means to continue its war and terror, and this could become the most reliable foundation for peace in our region.”
