Zelensky: Russia chooses new attacks every day
Kyiv, February 7 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on allies to provide air defense systems to prevent Moscow from using winter as a weapon.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about Russia’s latest attacks across Ukraine targeting energy facilities.
Detailing the scale of the attacks and the affected regions, Zelensky addressed the international community.
Explaining the technical details and targets, Zelensky said: “Wherever the security situation allows, rescue and repair operations are continuing in the areas hit by Russian attacks. In last night’s attack, more than 400 drones and around 40 missiles of various types were used.”
Providing information on the situation in the regions, he said: “The main targets were the energy grid, production facilities, and distribution substations. Damage was reported in the Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Rivne regions. In Rivne, an apartment building was damaged. In Ladyzhyn in the Vinnytsia region, drones struck the administrative building of an agricultural college. Attacks also occurred in the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions.”
Emphasizing the need to strengthen defense capacity, Zelensky concluded: “Russia chooses new attacks every day, while it could choose real diplomacy. It is crucial that everyone who supports trilateral negotiations responds to this. Moscow must be deprived of the ability to use cold weather as leverage against Ukraine. For this, missiles for Patriot, NASAMS, and other systems are needed. Every delivery helps us get through this winter.”
