2026 International Day for Women in Maritime is being celebrated
New York, May 18 (Hibya)- The International Maritime Organization (IMO) made a call for social media participation for the 2026 International Day for Women in Maritime in order to draw attention to gender equality in the maritime sector.
IMO is organizing an event to raise global awareness within the scope of the 2026 International Day for Women in Maritime.
IMO invited all stakeholders, especially women working in the maritime sector, to share their experiences on social media. The call aims to increase the visibility of women in the sector, support equality efforts, and contribute to a more inclusive maritime structure.
Participants are encouraged to share photos, videos, and opinions, while emphasizing the importance of using the hashtag ''#WomenInMaritimeDay'' in their posts.
Within the scope of the event, it is aimed to make the contributions of women visible in every field of the maritime sector, from ship personnel to office workers and policymakers.
