Foreign ministers of Ukraine and Hungary held talks
Kyiv, May 18 (Hibya)- Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that during talks with Hungary, issues including the development of bilateral relations, minority matters, and Ukraine’s European Union membership process were discussed.
Sybiha made a statement regarding his phone conversation with Hungary’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Anita Orban.
Sybiha stated that recent developments, regional issues, and the strengthening of relations between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.
It was stated that the Ukrainian side appreciated the Hungarian government’s response to the recent Russian attacks, while steps aimed at rebuilding mutual trust between the two countries were also evaluated.
During the meeting, it was reported that an agreement was reached to hold technical-level expert talks between Ukraine and Hungary, particularly regarding the issue of the Hungarian minority in the Zakarpattia region.
Sybiha also touched upon Ukraine’s European Union membership process, stating that they are ready to open negotiation chapters as soon as possible.
