Araghchi stated that Iran’s unanimous election to the Executive Council of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) is an important step for countries that believe in a world free from chemical weapons.

He called on Germany to publish the results of past investigations and conduct full and transparent reviews of the role of its companies.

“The judicial investigations conducted by Dutch authorities, which resulted in the prosecution and conviction of a Dutch national, are commendable. But we all know this was only the most basic part — the visible tip of the iceberg,” he added.

Araghchi stressed that justice for chemical attack victims has been delayed, saying: “The victims’ calls for justice must not be forgotten.”
