Budrys: We have reached an agreement on expanding the sanctions regime against Belarus
Vilnius, December 15 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys announced that an agreement has been reached to expand the European Union’s sanctions regime against Belarus.
Foreign Minister Budrys said that during the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, an agreement was reached on expanding the EU’s sanctions regime against Belarus.
Noting that the new criteria cover hybrid attacks, disruption of critical infrastructure and disinformation, Budrys emphasized that they provide the EU with strong tools to respond decisively and effectively.
“This decision is a concrete demonstration that the EU acts in unity and solidarity. I welcome our shared determination to take the necessary steps to protect the security of the entire European Union,” he said.
