Carney: Ready to provide additional support in fighting wildfires
Ottawa, June 9 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Carney announced that the government is ready to provide additional support wherever needed in response to the ongoing wildfires across the country.
Prime Minister Carney convened the Incident Response Group to discuss government efforts related to wildfire response and evacuation support.
Carney stated that Canadian Armed Forces personnel have been mobilized to assist with the evacuation of Sandy Lake in Ontario, adding: "The federal government stands ready to provide additional support wherever it is needed. Our continued thanks go to all first responders and volunteers fighting on the ground to protect our communities."
