Zelensky: Our citizens are returning home, the prisoner exchange process has begun
Kyiv, June 9 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian citizens have begun returning home as part of a prisoner exchange with Russia.
Zelensky stated that the exchange process began today and will continue in several stages in the coming days.
He noted that those returning include the wounded, severely injured, and Ukrainians under the age of 25. Emphasizing the complexity of the process, he said it involves many sensitive details and that negotiations are ongoing almost daily. Zelensky added that they expect the humanitarian agreements reached in Istanbul to be fully implemented.
"We are doing everything we can to bring each of our people back. We are working at all levels for this purpose," he said.
Zelensky stressed that all Ukrainians still in captivity must return home and thanked everyone who contributed to the process.
