European Council President António Costa met with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda in Vilnius, the third stop on his tour of capitals.

Costa stated that Lithuania’s security is Europe’s security, noting that complex hybrid threats require coordinated action across Europe.

Costa said that the European Union will continue to contribute to strengthening its defense and security capabilities through the next multiannual budget, adding that he also discussed with Nauseda the important role Lithuania will play when it assumes the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union next January.
