Macron voices support for SDF integration process in Syria
Paris, August 26 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron assessed the latest step taken in the peaceful integration process of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF/FDS) into the Syrian state.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he welcomed the critical step taken yesterday in the peaceful integration process of the Syrian Democratic Forces (FDS/SDF) into the Syrian state.
Macron said France will continue to support Syria’s transition process.
In a statement on his social media account, Macron said, “I warmly welcome the critical step taken yesterday in the peaceful integration process of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian state.”
Macron highlighted the stance of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in the integration process, saying he saluted “President al-Sharaa’s determination on this issue.”
The French president also referred to the approach of Syrian Democratic Forces Commander Mazloum Abdi and the SDF, saying, “I salute the sense of responsibility shown by Mazloum Abdi and the SDF.”
Macron said France has played an active role since the beginning of Syria’s transition process to support this initiative and will continue to closely monitor its implementation.

Emphasizing that Syria’s unity and sovereignty are at the heart of France’s approach to the country, Macron said all components of society must be respected.

Macron also highlighted the importance of this approach in achieving lasting peace and stability in Syria, saying, “In Syria, as everywhere else, a path toward lasting peace and stability can only be built in this way.”
