Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented state awards at a ceremony held for soldiers serving in the defense of the country. Zelensky awarded the Gold Star to Heroes of Ukraine Andrii Biletskyi and Eduard Kolodii.

Zelensky also presented other state awards to fighters who took part in the Oleksandrivska operation.

Emphasizing the role of soldiers in Ukraine’s defense during the ceremony, Zelensky thanked the fighters.

Zelensky said, “Thank you for defending our state in the most difficult sectors, everywhere where Ukraine’s roots run deep,” highlighting the importance of the soldiers’ contribution to protecting the country’s independence and expressing his gratitude for the sacrifice and strength demonstrated by the fighters.

In his speech, Zelensky also addressed the history and war between Ukraine and Russia, accusing Russia of trying to erase his country’s history and Ukrainian identity.

Zelensky said, “The enemy always wants to erase everything connected with Ukraine, because our history is longer than any history in Moscow and any Russian aggression.”

Emphasizing that this is one of the things Ukraine must fight for, Zelensky said, “And this is something we must fight for.”

Zelensky also thanked the soldiers he honored with state awards, not only for their service but also for the determination and strength that made it possible to protect Ukraine’s independence.

At the ceremony, the Gold Star awarded to Andrii Biletskyi and Eduard Kolodii, along with other state awards presented to fighters who participated in the Oleksandrivska operation, were given in recognition of their service in the defense of Ukraine.
