Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, commemorating the anniversary of the Czechoslovak occupation that ended the Prague Spring, recalled Moscow’s response to society’s desire for independence and freedom.

Fiala stated: “We commemorate the 57th anniversary of the occupation of Czechoslovakia that brutally ended the Prague Spring, and Moscow’s ruthless response to our society’s aspiration for independence and freedom. Let us not forget this.”

Fiala also stressed that the Kremlin’s aggressive policy and the threat of authoritarian forces that do not respect human freedom persist, adding: “Let us keep this in mind in the upcoming elections.”
