Fiala: Czech Republic no longer dependent on Russian nuclear fuel
Prague, June 16 (Hibya) – Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that the Czech Republic is no longer dependent on Russian nuclear fuel.
Fiala stated that today, for the first time, Dukovany received fuel from the American company Westinghouse.
He added that Temelín switched to the same supplier in May, and the French company Framatome will join next year.
"This is a fundamental step towards greater energy security and independence. We are protecting our energy sector from geopolitical risks and strengthening the sovereignty of the Czech Republic," Fiala said.
