WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that they welcome the ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand.

He noted that the recent escalation of violence has had serious consequences for civilians on both sides: “There have been reports of deaths and injuries, and tens of thousands have been displaced. The closure of health facilities in both countries has negatively impacted access to healthcare. We call on both governments to ensure the protection of health facilities, health workers, and access to essential services at all times. The best medicine is peace.”
