Harris: I am concerned about the escalation of attacks on Gaza
Dublin, September 18 (Hibya) - Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Simon Harris stated that he is deeply concerned about the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, emphasizing that these attacks will only lead to further loss of life, more hunger, and a greater distancing from the hope of peace.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Harris announced that 15 more Palestinians from Gaza will soon arrive in Ireland.
Harris said he gladly welcomed the arrival of these young Palestinians to Ireland and wished them success during their stay.
He noted that evacuations from Gaza are a complex operation requiring close cooperation among multiple organizations and detailed planning led by consular and embassy teams.
“I am deeply concerned about the escalation of Israel's attacks on Gaza; these attacks will only result in further loss of life, more hunger, and a greater distancing from the hope of peace. Ireland has consistently called for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, the facilitation of humanitarian aid flows, and a joint effort to achieve a two-state solution. Next week, I will attend the UN General Assembly, where the situation in Gaza will be at the top of my agenda.”
