Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated in his announcement that new diplomatic relations between the two countries had begun.

Referring to the presentation of credentials, Herzog said, “This morning, I was pleased to host Dr. Mohamed Haji, Somaliland’s first Ambassador to Israel, who presented his credentials to me.”

Drawing attention to special moments during the ceremony, Herzog stated, “Ambassador Haji was also very impressed by our orchestra, which played the Somaliland national anthem for the first time at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem!”

Delivering a message of partnership for the future, Herzog said, “This important new partnership between our countries will pave the way for cooperation in various fields for the benefit of our peoples and the entire region.”
