European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said the Kosovo Specialist Chambers are an impartial and independent judicial body and that their decisions must be respected.

In a social media post, Kos said convicted individuals have the right to appeal, noting that the process concerns individual accountability and justice for victims from all communities in Kosovo and their families.

Calling on actors in the region to help heal the wounds of the past, Kos said the countries of the region can overcome divisions and move toward a shared future in the European Union only through reconciliation.
