United States (US) President Donald Trump called for interest rate cuts, saying rates in the US should be 1 percent or lower.

In a social media post, Trump argued that the US is the world's most creditworthy country, saying new investment in the country is increasing and the economy is performing strongly.

Trump claimed that if the US stopped trading with countries with which it runs a trade deficit, it could obtain at least $1.5 trillion annually, arguing that the trade deficit is “nothing but a loss.”

At the end of his post, Trump called for interest rates in the US to be lowered “quickly.”
