Lavrov said Taiwan is an integral part of China
Moscow, December 28 (Hibya) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the state news agency Tass that the Russian government views Taiwan as an integral part of China and opposes the island’s attempts to gain independence.
Lavrov stated that any dispute regarding Taiwan’s future is an internal matter of China.
He also warned the Japanese government to avoid hasty military decisions, despite the country’s apparent militarization.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi had previously angered Chinese officials by saying that the Japanese military would arm itself if Taiwan were attacked.
