Peskov: We are open to peace, but not to tricks aimed at delaying the situation
Moscow, December 15 (Hibya) – Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Russia is open to peace and does not want to prolong the conflict, saying: “We are open to peace, but not to tricks aimed at delaying the situation.”
Responding to comments about the possibility of reaching an agreed position by Christmas, Peskov said: “Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to peace, but he will not fall for games intended to delay the negotiation process.
I will not attempt to specify any timeframe. I believe that would be the most ungrateful task at the moment. I can only speak on behalf of the Russian side, on behalf of President Putin. He is open to peace, to a serious peace.”
Peskov also noted that Russia is not open to “tricks” that could only provide a pause in the conflict without real progress toward a solution.
